The Art Center is supported under an agreement between the Tennessee Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. We thank the Tennessee General Assembly and the Tennessee Arts Commission for their support.

Alice Runtsch Lee Shoup Library

The Art Center library has recenty undergone a refurbishing and inventory of its over 1000 books, all in the Dewey Decimal 700's which includes art history, biographies of artists, painting techniques, crafts and related topics. Recently added shelves crafted by Larry Metcalf hold oversized, lavishly illustrated "coffeetable" books about such artists as Michelangelo, Picasso and many others. Many volumes will not be found in any other area library, gifts of early center members who collected widely. Art Center members may borrow up to three books at a time, for one month. Non-members are welcome to browse. The library is always open when the Art Center is, seven days a week. Gift books are appreciated and if they do not fit the collection or are duplicates they will be sold or passed on to some other library.

The Oak Ridge Art Center is open to the public seven days a week. Admission is free, but donations are very welcome.

Hours:
Tuesday-Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday-Monday: 1-4 p.m.
